Since the Commencement of Kalubowitiyana CTC Tea operation, We have been spreading our reach globally by manufacturing thick coloury CTC grades for renowned, quality blends for everyone to enjoy.
Kalubowitiyana Tea estate Ltd (KTFL) was incorporated on the 30th of September 1992 as a public Company fully owned by the Government of Sri Lanka and functioning under the ministry of plantation industries. It began commercial operations with the commencement of manufacturing at the newly built CTC Tea estate located in Kalubowitiyana Morawaka on 1st August 1994. CTC Tea estate was built with the assistance of Indian Line of Credit. Similarly, the Derangala Tea estate in Derangala Morawaka was re-built, again with the same credit facility, and commenced manufacturing of Orthodox Teas in March 2000. Company acquired Hiniduma Hills Tea estate in Neluwa and Manikdiwela Tea estate in Manikdiwela, Pilimathalawa from Tea Shakthi Fund on lease to its network on the years 2012 and 2015, thus increased the total production to 1703 MT p.a.

ඔබගේ මුද්‍රා තබන ලද මිළගණන් 2023.06.02 දින ප. ව. 2.30 ට හෝ ඊට පෙර පහත සඳහන් ලිපිනයට ලියාපදිංචි තැපෑලෙන් එවීමට හෝ රැගෙන විත් එහි ඇති ටෙන්ඩර් පෙට්ටියට බහාලිය හැක.
ඔබ විසින් ඉදිරිපත් කරනු ලබන මිළගණන් බහාලුමේ ඉහළ වම් කෙළවරෙහි “දර/දර කැබලි/ බ්‍රිකට්ස් සැපයීම සඳහා මිළගණන්” යනුවෙන් සඳහන් කළයුතුය. අදාල මිළගණන් විවෘත කරනු ලබන අවස්ථාවට ඔබට හෝ ඔබගේ බලයලත් නියෝජිතයෙකුට ඒ සඳහා සහභාගී විය හැක.

How Is Tea Made
All About The Process
The green leaf is harvested on a regular basis at intervals ranging from 5 days to 8 days from each field.
PLUCKING
No sooner it is received at the estate , the leaf is weighed and spread on troughs.
WITHERING
Is the process by which the leaf is twisted and the leaf cell walls ruptured to bring the juices to the surface of the leaf
ROLLING
Of the tea juices is an essential process in the manufacture of black tea.
FERMENTATION
The primary objective of drying is the extraction of moisture and the arresting of fermentation. The fermented leaf contains from 45% to 50% moisture.
DRYING
The fired teas after cooling are graded / sifted according to size and shape, as the trade demands.

A larger size leaf with bold round particles giving a full bodied bright tea.
A smaller size leaf giving a strong tasting Tea, useful grade for tea bags.
Fine granular particles that bring out the optimum strength and body, ideal for commercial brewing.
Orthodox Products
Similar to the BOP leaf but firm leaf and consisting of a few tips.
A typical low country semi-leaf tippy tea with a full bodied sweet brew.
A whole leaf tea with an abundance of long tips. Exquisite mildly caramel sweet liquor.
A popular leaf size which helps to bring out a good balance of taste and strength.
A well twisted semi leaf tea generally from the low country, with a mild malty taste.
A semi leaf tea with some tips, has a mellow flavour cup.
